Eat-Chill-Click, and still for a cause
Eat-Chill-Click for a Cause will benefit Wadena-area kids on Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to Cyber Cafe director Randy Jahnke, the event is an expansion of what used to be "Knitting for a Cause."
"Gail [Vittetoe] is our events coordinator here at the Cyber, and she's worked many painstaking hours to come up with different events along with this one," Jahnke said.
Cyber Cafe will serve a lunch of pulled pork sandwiches with beans and chips, along with free coffee and snacks throughout the day. There is a free will offering for the lunch.
A silent auction and raffle will also raise funds.
First prize of the raffle is 1/2 beef cut and wrapped with a freezer.
Second prize is a 32-inch flat screen TV.
Third prize is a whole pig cut and wrapped.
Fourth prize is a Nintendo Wii game system.
Fifth prize is $100 cash.
For the silent auction, there will still be quilts and knitted items along with other goods.
"All the proceeds go right back to the Cyber Cafe," Jahnke said.
He said that the Cyber Cafe needs to pay for new computers, computer hardware, building maintenance and equipment for special events.
"We're very excited to have this event and fortunate to have great board members and volunteers and people in the public," Jahnke said.
The Cyber Cafe is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Its mission is "To create an environment for our youth where they can grow, learn, and have fun in a positive, chemical-free place of their own."
