Inn Owner Frank Qureshi said that three rooms were damaged. Wadena and Verndale firefighters were called to the inn at 7:45 a.m. and remained there for 2 ½ hours. The exact cause of the fire is unknown according to Wadena Fire Chief Dean Uselman.

Qureshi has owned the property for two years. He said he will not know the dollar value of the damage until an insurance representative makes an inspection.

No one was injured in the fire and the 44-room inn is open for business.

The restaurant, which is connected to the inn, but is owned by Yobani Melchior, was open for business Monday.

The business is located on Ash Avenue Northwest in Wadena next to Merickel's Lumber and Hardware.
