Earl Ruben Edberg, 62, of Deer Creek and formerly of Park Rapids, passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Earl was born to Fridolf and Doris (Lane) Edberg on May 5, 1947, in Minneapolis. He was united in marriage to Carol Dormanen on June 27, 1977, in Minneapolis. Together they made their home in Park Rapids for 20 years and for the past two years they have lived in Deer Creek. Earl worked as a self-employed house painter for many years. He loved his dogs, Peach and Sheeba, hunting, fishing, camping and four-wheeling. Most of all, he loved to make people laugh.
A memorial gathering and benefit will be held from 7-8 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the Deer Creek Community Center.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carol; sons, Craig of Rogers and Chad of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; and his brother Paul (Bette) of Benson, Ariz.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ray and Lee; and sisters Jean McGinnis and Jane Broman.
