Eagles pounce on Raiders 20-0
Brandon Kupfer fired a three-hitter Tuesday as a fearsome New York Mills squad chased Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale off the field in five innings with a 20-0 victory.
Kupfer walked two and fanned 11 in the Park Region Conference outing.
"New York Mills showed why they are rated in the top five in Class A baseball," BHV head coach Steve Riewer said. "They hit the ball well throughout the order and made the plays on defense as well. Kupfer pitched a phenomenal game for them, and we just never had a chance to get things going."
Dallas Ehrmantraut was the only Raider to collect a hit. The BHV lead-off man went 3-for-3 at the plate and raised his season batting average to .451.
Nick LeTourneau and Kyle Vorderbruggen combined with Kupfer to collect four hits, five runs and 10 RBIs in the win.
