Douglas Clyde Goddard, 75, of Farmington, Minn., formerly of Morris, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 11, 1934, in Aldrich, to Harold William and Jenny Elizabeth (Wassink) Goddard. He married Allenor Cottrell June 15, 1954 in Wadena. He got his education at District 4 Aldrich Township. He worked as a farmer for Harold Luthi and then Dick Hufford both in the Morris Area before moving to Elk River, Minn., where he worked as a laborer at Altra-Pack until he retired in 2000. He will be greatly missed for his kindness, his great sense of humor, and his beautiful embroidery work.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Verndale with the Rev. Daryl Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Allenor; sons, Terry (Sue), Pennock, Minn., Dale, Farmington, Minn., Kevin (Bonnie), Faribault, Minn., Curt (Joan), Circle Pines, Minn., DelRay (Shelly), Lakeville, Minn.; daughters, LeAnn (Robert) Raths, Fergus Falls, Lynette (Keith) Nelson, Spicer, Minn., Jennifer (Bob) Bimberg, Faribault, Minn.; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Sam (Norma), Jim (Jeanette); and sisters, Jean Erickson, Lou Harne, Pat (Allen) Cottrell, Paulette (Mike) Borgheiinck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and three brothers-in-law.
