Sharon McLeod, Project Share of Wadena food shelf manager, and G.P. Anderson of Wadena show a large donation of food. GP and his wife constructed the Christmas light show at their home in Wadena in 2008 and 2009 with 100 percent proceeds going to the food shelf.
Anderson was able to raise $511.93 and 186 pounds of food this year, bringing the two-year total to $971.89 and 372 pounds of food. McLeod said the food shelf purchases food from the Minnesota Food Bank where they pay one cent per ounce. A 16-ounce box of cereal that typically costs $4 can be purchased for 16 cents. The Andersons said they look forward to doing it again next year. Additional information can be found at www.christmasinwadena.com.
