Denise Ann Palazeke, 48, of Wadena, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 26, 2009 at her home.
She was born on June 20, 1961, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Douglas and Nancy (VanEppes) Palazeke. She married Kenneth Floyd Lessley II on July 6, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nev. She had resided in Wadena for the past seven years and was employed by Rising Phoenix. In her free time she found joy in writing, drawing and watching movies. She especially enjoyed playing with her children and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Wadena, with the Rev. Vaughn White officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Olson, J.D. Olson, Bobby Olson, Doogie Olson and Tom Olson. Active pallbearers were James Brandon, Jeremy Palazeke, Kenneth Lessley, Keenan Heising, James Palazeke, and David Stockwell. Interment was in the Wadena Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
Survivors include her sons, Jeremy of Detroit Lakes, James and Kenneth III, both of Wadena; daughters, Kimberly Lessley of Wadena, and Kristina Lessley of Lima, N.Y.; a granddaughter; sister, Kimberly (Jim) Olson of Wadena; and nephews, an aunt and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in December 2003; her parents, Douglas and Nancy; and her grandparents, Vince Palazeke, and Mr. and Mrs. VanEps.
