Delbert Lee Roy Bauck, 78, passed away Sept. 26, 2009, at Perham Memorial Home in Perham.
Delbert Lee Roy Bauck was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Perham, to Herman and Minnie (Jorgenson) Bauck. Delbert grew up on the family farm in Otto Township, rural New York Mills. He was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Perham, and graduated from the New York Mills High School with the class of 1950. Delbert served in the Army from July 21, 1954 to July 14, 1956. On Oct. 22, 1960, Delbert was united in marriage with Geraldine Caroline Matz at St. John's Lutheran Church in Corliss Township, rural Perham. Together they made their home and farmed in Otto Township, rural New York Mills. On July 22, 1986, Geraldine passed away. Delbert continued farming until his retirement in fall 1993. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York Mills with the Rev. Jon T. Haakana officiating. The hymns were sung by the congregation with special music by Pastor Diane Jackson, accompanied by Jackie Hilding. The pallbearers were Dean Schultz, Brian Curtis, Albert Jorgenson, Alvin Mattfeld, Warren Bachmann and Tim Vaughn. Military honors were provided by Charles D. Center VFW Post 3289 of New York Mills. Delbert was laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery, New York Mills. Arrangements were provided by the Karvonen & Son Funeral Home of New York Mills. Survivors include his son, Scott Bauck of New York Mills; daughters, Shalee LaMond of West Fargo, N.D. and Tammy Bauck of Pierre, S.D.; granddaughter, Hallie Getz of Pierre, S.D.; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine; granddaughter, Katelyn Bauck; and brother, Arland Bauck.
