County board discusses meeting notification
A Blueberry Township resident addressed the Wadena County Board with concerns regarding county commissioner meeting notifications.
The resident requested that a system be put in place to notify residents of all meetings, including committee meetings and work sessions. The board discussed the concern. However, with the number of committee meetings that commissioners attend, they decided it would be impractical to publish notice of every committee meeting.
State statute does not require notification of committee meetings. Currently, any resident that would like notification of meetings can request to be notified by United States Postal Service or electronic mail. Meetings are published on the county's website as well.
The consensus of the board was the current system would remain the same and if any resident is interested in attending a specific committee meeting, he or she could request notification of such.
