Community benefit dinner planned for Steph Larson
A community benefit dinner and DJ evening for Stephanie Larson will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Wadena Elks Lodge.
Volunteer Mark Johnson said the event will raise funds to offset medical expenses incurred after Larson suffered cardiac arrest of unknown causes. She has had three open heart surgeries.
"They never figured out what happened that night," he said.
A free will offering dinner of chicken, potatoes, vegetables and rice will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and a silent auction will also be held at that time.
Linoleum Disc Jockeys will provide music from 8 p.m. to midnight.
People interested in donating funds or items for the silent auction may contact Jenn (Davis) Wolfenbarger at firstname.lastname@example.org or (218) 924-2748.
Donations can also be made to Strength for Steph Fund, c/o Mid-Central Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 152, Wadena, MN 56482.
Supplemental funds for the benefit will be provided by Thrivent Financial.
A previous fundraiser for Larson was held Nov. 18 at Pizza Ranch Donovan Hall.
According to a press release, "Girls Night Out - Shopping4Steph" was very successful, raising about $6,500 with 400 attendees and donors.
