A. Clifford Anderson

A. Clifford Anderson was born in Wadena County on September 30, 1914, the fifth child of eight for Edward and Emma Anderson. Cliff passed away on December 6th while living with family in Apopka, FL.

Cliff spent most of his life in Wadena County and earned his living farming, driving trucks for Merickel Lumber and as a construction worker for James Steele Construction is St. Paul, MN. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, canoeing in the Boundary Waters with family and friends, plus spear fishing in the winter. He was a charter member of the England Prairie Club and an ardent participant. Hi favorite tractors were the old line of BC Allis-Charmers.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Emma, his wife Viola (Smith) of Wadena, two sons, Vern ell and baby Delwin (Bubby). He was also preceded by three brothers, Reier and Bill of Verndale and Wilbur (Shorty) of Minneapolis; also by two sisters, Florence (Ben) Denny of Staples and Lillian (Dale) Smith of Bluffton.

He is survived by his son, Eugene (Andy) and his wife Harriet Anderson of Verndale, MN and Apopka, FL and daughter Maxine (Stanley) Hanson, of Joplin, MO; two sisters, Ida (Mervin) Compton of St. Paul and Doris (Roy) Gutsche of Portland, OR. He was "Grampa" to eight grandchildren, and "Granddaddy" to fifteen great-grand children and four great-great grandchildren.

He was a life-long member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, loved Jesus and lived his faith. A memorial service will be held January 4, 2014 at 4:00 at the Wadena Seventh-day Adventist Church, 14722 125th St. with a sipper following the service. He always said he wanted people to eat well at his funeral. He was a blessing to many.
