Clara Lindemann, 88, a resident of Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena, and a former resident of Humphrey Manor, passed away Sept. 19, 2009, at Fair Oaks Lodge.
She was born Sept. 7, 1921, to Richard and Minnie (Hennen) Hillig in Boyd, Minn. She married Oscar Lindemann in 1953 in Sebeka. Through the years, she spent her free time fishing and gardening. As time went on she enjoyed bingo, church activities, and socializing with family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena with the Revs. Rob Nelson and Rachel L. O. Stout officiating. Interment was in the West Lyons Cemetery in rural Nimrod. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Hillig and Butch Maiers. Pallbearers were Scott Hillig, Dale Hillig, Richard Spieker and Harold Butzin. Arrangements were with the Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena (www.johnsonmemorialhome.com).
Survivors include her son, Marvin (Rose) Hillig of Long Prairie; daughter, Esther (Butch) Maiers of Ham Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Rudy Hillig of Brainerd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, in October 1998; her parents, Richard and Minnie; brother, Charlie Hillig; and sisters, Lilly Butzin, Elsie Riley and Bertha Hemphill.
