Dean Uselman, left, and Jim Merickel plant trees near the Wadena Cemetery Tuesday afternoon along with members of the Lions Club and the United States Department of Agriculture. The group planted 135 assorted shade trees. Merickel Lumber, Gloria Merickel and the Harrison Foundation purchased 100 of the trees. The remainder were donated by the Bailey's Nursery in Newport, Minn. The trees will be watered this summer and can be transplanted around the cemetery by members of any church denomination next spring. Hunke's Transfer also assisted in the planting effort. "It's a total community project," Merickel said.
