Cemetery headstones being restored

Email

The June 17 tornado that devastated the western side of Wadena passed directly over the Wadena City and Calvary Cemeteries leaving 531 monuments askew.

The city cemetery has 325 monuments that are tipped, separated or slightly off their foundations. There are 206 monuments in Calvary that need attention.

The process of restoring the two cemeteries is under way but is expected to take a lot of time, effort and patience to accomplish.
