Carson Breitenfeldt Golf Trail
Area golf clubs will be hosting the 1st Annual Carson Breitenfeldt memorial and Minnesota Golf Trail Ladies Team Championship this summer.
Each club will host a series of four events this summer, culminating with a banquet at the end of the series.
The membership fee of $100 per person will benefit the charity of the team that finishes highest in the season standings.
All players must have a USGA Handicap. Each club may have more than one team. Teams will be made up of eight players and will ply in two, four-person teams. Team rosters can not be changed after the start of the season.
Each team will pay a $50 entry fee for reach 18-hole event, which includes carts, lunch and team prizes. Each club will be responsible for setting up their own events and starting times.
Participating clubs include: Perham Lakeside, Blueberry Pines, Headwaters, Longbow, Thumper Pond, Tianna, Balmoral, Detroit C.C. and Wildflower.
Scheduled events for this summer include: June 16 at Perham Lakeside; June 30 at Tianna G.C. in Walker; July 21 at Balmoral on Otter Tail Lake; and Aug. 11 at Headwaters G.C. in Park Rapids.
The event was set up as a memorial for Carson Breitenfeldt, a Perham 10-year-old who was tragically killed in a four-wheeler accident in the spring of 2006.
