A 1992 Dodge Spirit driven by Stacaia M. Murdock, 36, of Brainerd, was slowing and signaling for a left turn when a 2002 Dodge Caravan driven by Jessica Rae Beaulieu, 25, of Cass Lake, Minn., struck her from behind. The impact forced Murdock's vehicle into the southbound lane, where it was hit by an oncoming semi truck loaded with wheat. The impact tore the engine compartment from the passenger compartment of Murdock's vehicle.

Murdock was treated and released at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena. Her passenger, Dewayne C. Murdock, of Wadena, is listed in critical condition after being airlifted to the St. Cloud Hospital.

Two passengers in Beaulieu's vehicle, 4-year-old Lakota R. Beaulieu and 7-year-old Aaron J. Jones, were treated and released. Both were wearing booster seats and seat belts. The medical condition of another passenger, whose identity has not yet been identified by the state patrol, was not known.

Zachary T. Njaa, 24, of Wannaska, Minn., was the driver of the grain truck and was not injured.
