Cancer trail organizers seek riders
The First annual Saddle Up for the Cure trail ride will be held at the Old Wadena Historical Site 10 a.m. Sept. 15, according to a press release given to the Pioneer Journal.
The trail ride is to benefit the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
Pamela Sommars and her daughter Heidi Harrington are responsible for starting the project. When asked why The American Breast Cancer Foundation, Pam said, "Without them my mother would not be alive today."
Pam's mother was diagnosed with Breast cancer a few years ago and had no medical insurance. The American Breast Cancer Foundation stepped in and helped with medical expenses.
This ride was started not only as a tribute to the family but also to pay it forward to other families touched by the foundation, in hopes of keeping their family member with them a little longer. Oftentimes, the best birthday in life is the next one.
Organizers are looking for riders to join in the effort. For more information, email email@example.com.
