Cabbage planters

Email News Alerts

WDC third-graders always know when spring officially arrives with the delivery of Bonnie Cabbage plants. Randy Calhoun of Nora Springs, Iowa shares his love of vegetable gardening by giving them, and the staff, a healthy cabbage plant to put in their garden. When the plant reaches maturity, the students may take a photo of the cabbage. Bonnie Plants then awards a $1,000 scholarship to one student from each state. The winner is selected through a random drawing of each class winner.
