C-I, Hawley top WDC girls

Jana Anderson chalked up 25 points Tuesday as the Crosby-Ironton Rangers defeated Wadena-Deer Creek 52-41 in a Mid-State Conference game.

Courtney Volkmann led the Wolverines with 15 points and was three of five from three-point land. Emily Miron had eight points and nine boards. Kelsi Crawford also pulled down nine rebounds.

The Rangers were 13 of 16 at the line and connected on all eight of their final free throws.

"The team played hard and did some good things," WDC head coach Brian Silbernick said. "We just can't seem to get a break or a big shot when we need it."

Allie Stannes scored a team-high 15 points as the Nuggets downed the Wolverines in a non-conference game at Hawley.

Emily Miron's 14 tallies led the Wolverines. Courtney Volkmann scored 10.

The Nuggets were 14 of 17 at the free throw line.
