Bullet hits car, misses driver
A Wadena woman got a big scare Tuesday when a bullet came through her windshield while she was driving but missed her.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department, Sharon Venneman was westbound on 280th Street west of Wadena when the bullet came through her windshield and entered the passenger compartment, where it came to rest. Venneman was not hurt.
The sheriff's office investigated the incident and now believes the bullet was an errant shot not meant for her.
The investigation determined a nearby landowner had discharged the firearm while engaged in allegedly illegal hunting. The shot was not meant for the woman, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Department reported.
The incident was forwarded to the Otter Tail County Attorney's office for review and possible charges.
