The Verndale lady cagers clobbered Swanville Dec. 16 with a decisive victory of 67-16. The Bulldogs were no match for the Pirates, who took an early lead in the first half.

The Pirates' top scorer was Shania Glenz, with 21 points. Krista Dailey followed with 12 points. Jordyn Glenz netted a respectable 8 points.

The Bulldogs struggled in the first half, netting just 4 points by Brooklyn Thieschafer and Steph Koetter.

The Pirates further extended their lead in the second half, though the Bulldogs showed a little more fight with 12 points. Haileigh Sails led the Bulldogs with 6 points. In the end, the Bulldogs could not challenge the Pirates.

The Pirates killed the Wildcats 74-17 Thursday night in Laporte.

The lady cagers were superior in every contest earning 50 percent of attempted field goals and 59 percent of attempted free throws.

Jordyn Glenz led the Pirates with 20 points. Krista Dailey, Elyssa Kern and Keila Schmitz also put up double digits, with 10, 12 and 11 points respectively.

Pirates trump Royals 61-38

The Pirates trumped the Royalton Royals Dec. 17 with a final score of 61-38.

Shania Glenz led the Pirates, scoring 18 points. Sarah Moenkedick also netted double digits with 13 points.

The Pirates dominated free throw attempts, earning a 75 percent success rate to the Royals' 56 percent.

Krista Dailey came dangerously close to fouling out with four fouls.

No individual stats for Royalton were available at presstime.

The Pirates challenged LaPorte Thursday, their last match before the winter break. They will face Bertha-Hewitt Jan. 3.
