Bulldogs rebound against Wolverines
Nick Trosdahl scored three times as the Otter Tail Central Bulldogs crushed Wadena-Deer Creek 56-0 last Friday in Wadena.
Coming off a 37-14 season-opening loss to Barnesville, the veteran Bulldogs racked up 29 first quarter points in the first game on WDC's gridiron.
"Our kids came out and from the get-go we told them they had to control the line of scrimmage," OTC Head Coach Don Seipkes said.
Trosdahl hit paydirt on runs of one, three and 18 yards en route to an 82-yard rushing night.
Andrew Smith scored on TD runs of five and eight yards for OTC and led the Bulldogs with 106 yards rushing. Cody Seedorf also scored twice on runs covering two and six yards. Seedorf was OTC's No. 3 rushing leader with 52 yards.
Former WDC standout Andrew VanErp returned a first quarter punt 40 yards for a touchdown.
Vance Doll came up with eight stops for OTC. Seipkes was especially proud of his first team defense which did not allow a first down.
The Wolverines gained all of their offensive yards on the ground. Nick Carlson had 47 yards on 10 carries, Dylan Phillips racked up 36 yards on four attempts and Josh Brink logged 33 yards on six carries.
Wyatt Weber led the WDC defensive effort with five tackles.
The Wolverines will travel to Osakis Friday before returning to host Upsala-Swanville Area Sept. 27.
