Brian K. "Butch" Marquardt, age 58, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born August 15, 1955 in Wadena, MN the son of George and Joan Marquardt. He attended schools in Wadena and Duluth and graduated from Duluth Denfeld in 1974. He was employed by Goodwill Industries for 36 years.
Brian was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. A very special memory was his trip to Cooperstown, NY for the induction of Kirby Puckett into the Hall of Fame. He also loved the "Favre-less" Minnesota Vikings. In addition, Brian enjoyed travel and made trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends from Goodwill.
He was preceded in death by his father, George; and a brother, Gregg.
Brian is survived by his mother, Joan Marquardt of Duluth; brothers, Chuck (Carol) of West Branch, MI and Bill (Debbie) of Lapeer, MI; his sister, Kristie (Ken) Lindstrom of Duluth; sister-in-law, Wanda Marquardt of Duluth; girlfriend, Lorri Larsen of Duluth; and many nieces and nephews.
Gathering of family and friends from 10am until the 11am Mass of Christian Burial Friday, June 13th at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 4901 E Superior St., Duluth. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
