Branson, Mo. honors Purple Heart recipients
The sixth annual Branson Honors Purple Heart Recipients, will be held on April 24 through 26 in Branson, said Tiffany Isnard, Director of Marketing for the Branson Tourism Center. This unique event is the only veteran's event dedicated to honoring and remembering those who have received the "Purple Heart" for combat wounds received while serving in the Armed Forces of the United States of America and is officially supported by "The Military Order of the Purple Heart" (MOPH.)
Although the plans for the 2014 event have not been finalized and are ongoing, past events have included an inspirational opening and closing ceremony, an entertainment show featuring various Branson performers, a trout fishing tournament, a fish fry and a motorcycle run honoring the Purple Heart recipients. It is anticipated that the 2014 event will include most of those events plus some new and exciting events and, as in the past, there will be no charge for Purple Heart recipients to attend any of the event's activities.
"We would invite all Purple Heart recipients, veterans, their families and friends to reserve the dates of April 24 through 26 on their calendars and plan to attend the event," said Isnard.
