BPA boasts national awards
On June 16, seven Wadena-Deer Creek Business Professionals of America students, along with their advisor, Sandy Bain, attended the National Conference in Dallas.
While there, the students competed in eight contests, with WDC coming back with some top finishes in the nation. The Administrative Support Team of Kendra Grothmann, Heather Haman, Kayla Kephart and Justin Tucker were recognized on stage with a top finish of sixth place in the nation. Other places included Justin Tucker, 14th place in Integrated Office, Heather Haman, 16th place in Advanced Word, Angie Lorentz, 19th place in Legal Office Procedures and 20th place in Integrated Office Procedures, and Amy Brown, 20th place in Advanced Word.
WDC also had three students who earned their Ambassador Torch Award. These students achieved 70 service points in areas such as leadership, knowledge, cooperation, service, patriotism, and love, hope, faith. Amy Brown attended the Torch Awards Reception with Bain. Elizabeth Quincer and Katie Anderson also received the award, but were unable to attend the conference.
