Bob Tubandt's Wadena Boxing Club is gearing up for the 2008-09 season with their first home card slated for Dec. 20 at the National Guard Armory.

Some of the club's fighters this season will be:

• Trent Petro: (175 pounds) Wadena ... 21 ... Has boxed four years ... A seasoned boxer with a record of 32-8.

• T.J. Steward: (152) Wadena ... 22 ... Has boxed eight years ... Always a busy boxer who comes with action. Record of 46-14.

• Cody McManigle (145) Wadena ... 21 ... A 10-year veteran who "knows the business" and has won 52 of his 67 fights.

• Travis Petro (160) Wadena ... 17 ... Has boxed four years ... Is athletic and punches hard ... Has a record of 12-6.

• Jeremy McDonald (140) Sebeka ... 16 ... Has boxed one year ... Very fast punch ... Has a record of 3-2.

• Billy Fletcher (145) Park Rapids ... 19 ... Has boxed 2 years ... Always comes for action and punches hard. Sports a record of 5-4.

• Chris Steward (90) Wadena ... 13 ... A three-year veteran with great boxing skills and a 6-4 record.

• Albert Boldt (80) Hewitt ... Has been in the ring one year ... Non-stop boxer in superb shape with a record of 3-0.

• New Boxers: Zach McDonald (Sebeka), Jeremy Hoemberg and Jace Hoemberg (Motley), Shane Motschenbacher, and Bobby Wynn (Wadena), Mike Neis and Justin Isaacson (Nevis) and Matthew Green and Taylor Geiser (Bluffton).

• Coaches: Bob Tubandt, Todd Steward, Jeremy Umland, Pat Foster.
