Bluegrass concert to be held in New York Mills Friday
Monroe Crossing will give a concert at James Mann Auditorium in New York Mills on Friday.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Before the concert, the band will give a workshop on bluegrass music for students at the school.
Monroe Crossing is known for their bluegrass and bluegrass gospel. They have performed in both the U.S. and Canada.
Derek Johnson performs guitar, as well as lead and harmony vocals. Lisa Fuglie plays fiddle, mandolin, and assists with lead and harmony vocals. Matt Thompson plays mandolin and fiddle, and provides baritone vocals. Using bass and bass vocals is Mark Anderson, and David Robinson plays banjo.
The concert is sponsored by the New York Mills Cultural Center, as well as “Friends for Good,” a group out of Perham and New York Mills.
