Blue Devils on fire with 3-game winning streak

The Blue Devils extended their winning streak to three games Dec. 12 with a 5-0 rout of Morris-Benson.

Angela Hanson was outstanding in net again, recording her fourth shutout in just 10 games. Ashlee Helseth recorded her second game-winning goal in as many contests with a two-goal performance. Hanson saved 24 shots on goal to completed the shutout.

The Blue Devils took an early lead with a goal scored by Ashley Helseth at the 6:51 mark. Mackenzie Christianson also scored late in the first with an assist by Ana Sturdevant from the blue line.

A strong defensive effort helped secure the shutout. Defenders Kylee Damm and Abigail Ecker recorded two assists each.

Sara Caseperson had a strong offensive game, scoring her first two goals of the season - both in the third period. Zara Einerwold was able to celebrate her birthday by getting on the scoresheet with a an assist on Caspersons first goal of the contest. Christianson also recorded an assist in the third.

Morris-Benson Goaltender Holli Christians finished the game with 23 Saves. A solo penalty was assessed to Morris-Benson forward Emily Walz in the third period for checking.

LPGE/WDC vs. International Falls

A banged up Blue Devils team fell to International Falls 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Devils were missing several key players out with the flu. International Falls outshot the Blue Devils 38-12 to win. Angela Hanson continued her excellent play stopping 35 of 38 shots. The Blue Devils travel to Paynesville to take on River Lakes Thursday at 7:15 p.m.
