Blue Devils fall to Panthers 4-1
The Blue Devils were overcome by the Park Rapids Panthers in Wadena Jan. 7.
Both teams were scoreless after the first period of play. The Panthers drew first blood early 3:43 into the second period. They extended the lead with a late goal with just 57 seconds left of play.
The Blue Devils scored their lone goal 20 seconds into the third period when Abby Ecker found the back of the net with an assist by Kaytlyn Barthel. But the Panthers defense held off the Blue Devils while putting up two more points for a final score of 4-1.
There were several penalties throughout the night. The Blue Devils had four penalties while the Panthers racked up five penalties.
Blue Devils goalie Angela Hanson had a pretty good night with 33 saves. Panthers goalie Julia Smith saved 24 shots.

Blue Devils tie Lakers 3-3
The Blue Devils came back from a three-point deficit to tie the Detroit Lake Lakers 3-3 Thursday night.
Both teams were scoreless after the first period of play. But the Lakers came out strong in the second period with three unanswered goals. The Blue Devils came out ready for battle in the third period. McKenzie Christianson place the puck between the pipes with an assist by Zara Einerwold 11:19 into the period. Christianson scored again 14:54 into the period with an assist by Sara Casperson and Anna Sturdevant. Einerwold tied the game with three seconds left with an assist by Christianson, taking the game into overtime.
Excellent defense by both goalies led to the final decision of a tie, 3-3. Lakers' goalie Veronica Badurek saved 12 of 15 shots on goal. Blue Devils goalie Angela Hanson had an amazing night, stopping 50 of 53 shots on goal for a 94 percent save record for the night.
The Blue Devils will host Lake of the Woods Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. in Wadena

Blue Devils fall to Marshall 4-3
The Blue Devils took to the road Friday night, traveling to Marshall to take on the Tigers. In a very tight game, the Tigers bested the Blue Devils 4-3. Marshall scored late in the first and held off any goals by the Blue Devils to end the period 1-0. The Blue Devils found the net early in the second with a goal by Morgan Zeise, assisted by Kylee Damm. Marshall answered four minutes later with an unassisted goal, ending the second period 2-1.
The Blue Devils and the Tigers traded goals in the third period. Zeise scored on a powerplay for the Blue Devils with Ashley Helseth assisting. Marshall answered with a goal at the 13:59 mark, but Mckenzie Christianson tied the game at the 15:19 mark with an assist by Helseth and Zeise to take the game into overtime. Marshall scored 5:45 into OT to finish the game 4-3.

Blue Devils shutout in Luverne 5-0
Excellent defense by Luverne left the Blue Devils scoreless Saturday. Both teams were scoreless going into the second period, where Luverne found the net three times. Luverne scored twice more in the third to end the game 5-0.
