Kat Jensen kicked out 16 of 18 shots Tuesday as the Northern Lakes Lightning whipped Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek 4-2 in the season finale for both hockey clubs.

Kaylyn Eggena iced two goals and picked up one assist for the Lightning, who outshot the Blue Devils 54-18.

Ashlee Helseth and Brooke Umland scored first period goals for the Blue Devils. Abigail Ecker was credited with two assists.

The Blue Devils closed out the regular season with a 7-17 mark.

The Blue Devils will open Section 6A tournament play against fourth-seeded Detroit Lakes at 7 p.m. Saturday in Detroit Lakes.

The winner of Saturday's match will advance to face top-ranked Alexandria 7 p.m. Tuesday.

In Saturday's other semifinal match, third-ranked Northern Lakes will host sixth-seeded Morris-Benson at 1 p.m. The winner travels to second-seeded Fergus Falls for a 7 p.m. match Tuesday.

The Section 6A finals will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at a neutral site.
