Blazers edge Pelican Rapids 1-0 for 15th season win
Mike Blom doubled in Jordan Riewer with the game's only run Sunday as the Bertha Blazers edged the Pelican Rapids Lakers 1-0.
With one out in the sixth, Riewer reached on a base hit and moved to second on a flyout by Michael Riewer. Blom delivered the game-winning hit on a 2-0 count.
Patrick Riewer and Jan Eric Lindbergh engaged in a nine-inning pitching duel which saw the two pitchers combine for 22 strikeouts. Riewer fanned 12 and walked two while allowing four hits. Lindbergh surrendered six hits and two walks while striking out 10.
Pelican threatened in the bottom of the sixth when Ryan Boyer doubled, moved up on Brian Guler's sacrifice bunt and was then tagged out trying to come home on a fly ball by Adam Johnson.
The Blazers saw their season record go to 15-5.

Detroit Lakes 5, Bertha 3
Connor McLeod went 3-for-5 and Nick Esala went 3-for-4 as the Detroit Lakes Angels topped the Blazers Sunday.
The two teams went into the bottom of the eighth tied at 3-all. The Angels scored twice as Doug Dickey reached on a fielder's choice, moved up on a single by Esala and scored on a single by Phil Doll. The Angels added an insurance run when Preston Riewer mishandled a chance at short allowed Esala to cross the plate.
Michael Riewer went 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in one run for Bertha. Patrick Riewer and Jared Hoemberg both collected a pair of hits.
Jordan Riewer went the distance for the Blazers, striking out 10 while not allowing a walk.
Brock Johnson went the first seven frames for Pelican. Taylor Fuhs came on in the eighth and earned the win with two innings of relief.
