Benjamin Mast, 15, of Benson, Minn., passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Swift County Benson Hospital as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Ben was born June 28, 1994, in Benson, the son of Joseph Lynn and Becky Mae (Jaeger) Mast. He was baptized Oct. 16, 1994 by the Rev. Paul Haugen and confirmed into the Christian faith on Oct. 26, 2008 by the Rev. Dennis McManus at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson. He was a sophomore at Benson High School and was active in wrestling and football.

Among the things Ben enjoyed were fishing and hunting; riding his 4-wheeler and snowmobile; traveling and woodworking with his dad; gaming with his best friends and playing practical jokes on his brothers, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 11, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson, with the Rev. Dennis McManus officiating. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.

Survivors include his mother, Becky Mast (and Ken Halvorson) of Benson; his father, Joe Mast (and Mary May) of Marshall, Ill.; siblings: Joey Mast (and Kelly Wedel) of Hancock, Nathan Mast (and Heather Brenner) of Benson and Kristie Mast (and Dusty Baker) of Benson; grandparents, Amos Mast of Wadena and Delores Jaeger of Benson; niece, McKayla Baker; three nephews, Bryce and Branson Mast and James Mast; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Duke Jaeger; grandmother, Alma Mast; and uncle, Duane Jaeger Jr.
