Taylor Bienusa iced the winning goal Tuesday as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines shaded Prairie Centre 2-1.

Bienusa took a feed from Logan Meyer at 15:21 to break the 1-1 tie which Ryan Johnson created at the 12:15 mark in the second period with assists from Brennan Wallace and David Najjar.

The North Stars opened the scored in the first period as Sean Colton scored at the 14:29 mark off a feed by Ryan Connor.

Tyler Muehler blocked 25 Prairie Centre shots for his first net victory since Dec. 4.

The Wolverines won the game despite being out-shot in all three periods and putting just three shots on goal in the final period.

Derek Graves scored twice as the Mustangs trimmed the Wolverines for top honors in the Wadena-Deer Creek Holiday Tournament.

Logan Meyer kept the Wolverines in the game with a pair of goals. Meyer scored a power play goal in the second period with the assistance of Kyle Beiswenger and Taylor Bienusa. Meyer brought the Wolverines to within one with a penalty goal at the 17:25 mark in the third period.

Tyler Muehler stopped 36 shots in goal for WDC.
