Author Proebstle to visit the Wadena City Library
Author Jim Proebstle will visit the Wadena City Library at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 17.
Jim Proebstle's first novel, "In the Absence of Honor," is a story of conspiracy and intrigue set in northern Minnesota. When Jake Lorenz retreats to his family's cabin in the Minnesota woods for the winter, he's looking for peace, quiet, and time to reflect on the loss of his wife and his job. Instead, he suddenly finds himself embroiled in a struggle for land, wealth and power. Jake must battle personal demons and the deadly forces of man and nature to learn the truth. With origins dating back 200 years, and outcomes that could appear in tomorrow's newspaper, "In the Absence of Honor" whisks readers through a tale of conspiracy, fraud, deception, and betrayal that reverberates from a small northern community and Indian reservation to powerful forces in Washington, D.C.
Recently Proebstle completed his second novel, the story of his uncle, pilot Nick Morgan, and a devastating plane crash during World War II. Proebstle is currently president of Prodyne, Inc., a management consulting firm. His professional career included time at IBM, Xerox and Bell & Howell. Proebstle and his wife Carole live in Deer Park, Ill., and spend summers in northern Minnesota.
