A Wadena man was charged April 22 for allegedly assaulting two men on a basketball court before fleeing, later to be discovered hiding under a pile of clothes.
According to court documents, Terrance Lee Wren, 24, was charged April 22 with one count of third-degree assault and two counts of fifth-degree assault.
On April 21, Wadena police officers responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Howard Avenue SW, where several people said they were at a basketball court when an individual known to them only as "St. Louis" began fighting with them. The man was later identified as Wren, according to court records.
According to the men, Wren hit one of them three to four times and hit and bit the other, then went inside a nearby residence, where police later found Wren hiding under a pile of clothing in an upstairs bedroom.
Wren has two previous convictions for violent crimes, from June 2007 and December 2009. An omnibus hearing was scheduled in the case for May 11.
