The Mass of Christian Burial for Arthur Nesges formerly of New York Mills, was held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. Benedicts Senior Community Chapel in St. Cloud with Father Meinrad Dindorf presiding.
Arthur passed away at the age of 91 years on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Benedict Court Assisted Living in St. Cloud.
Arthur was born on April 26, 1921 in Bluffton, MN to Meinrad and Josephine (Geiser) Nesges. On September 6, 1945 Arthur was united in marriage to Frances Kluneenberg at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena. Together they ran the family farm in Bluffton Township. They lived on the farm until 2010 when they moved to St. Cloud.
Arthur's passion was gardening and he enjoyed being able to share with others the fruits of his labor. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances; parents Meinrad and Josephine; brother Tony; and sisters Genevieve Harlow and Margaret Hundley.
Arthur is survived by his son Randy (Noni) Nesges of Kalispell, Montana; daughters Sandra Nesges of Minneapolis, Linda Nesges of Minneapolis, Bonita (Peter) Minten of Auburn, Washington and Maridee (Terry) Knauf of Cold Spring; three grandchildren; and sisters Bernice Young of Portland, Oregon, Irene Kupfer of Bloomington, Minnesota and Virginia Danzl of Brainerd.
Burial will take place at a later date at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Bluffton.
Arrangements were with the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
