Summer softball leagues forming now
The Perham summer adult softball leagues are forming for 2007. League nights will stay the same with Men's League on Thursday and the Co-Rec League on Tuesdays. Anyone interested in starting a new team in either league can contact Randy Skoog at 346-3924. The Men's league is especially in need of a couple more teams.
Deadline to register a team is April 12th. The district meeting is that evening and all team membership materials are handed out then. Leagues will start mid-May to early June, depending on the number of teams in each league.
Annual Woman Bowler of the Year Tournament March 18
The Annual Women Bowler of the Year Tournament will be held Sunday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at The Cactus in Perham.
Women bowlers interested in registering should be at The Cactus before 12:30 p.m.
The Tournament is open to all women bowlers who are Perham Association members.
Mills Youth Wrestling Tournament
The New York Mills Youth Wrestling Tournament for kids in grades K-6 will be held Mar. 16 at the Sports Center and High School Gym.
Wrestlers in grades K-2 will be in the High School Gym, and grades 3-6 will be in the Sports Center. Weigh-ins will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. with the first matches to start at 6 p.m.
The tournament will be set up in 4-man brackets, set up by grade and weight. All wrestlers will be weighed in at time of registration. Girls will be bracketed with girls.
Entry fee is $8. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for students, and preschool is free. Awards will be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places; medals for 4th.
Concessions will be available. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the tournament should contact Doug Salo at 385-2553.
Vergas youth baseball
A fundraiser for the Vergas youth baseball will be held Sunday, March 18 at the Vergas Community Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a soup and sandwich lunch, with a silent-auction to help raise money to fund the youth baseball team. Proceeds will be used to replace old equipment and purchase new items for the team.

New transfer rule in effect
The Minnesota State High School League is in the process of changing Bylaw 111 which refers to "Transfer and Residence" .
If a student plans to change high schools prior to next fall they must make their intentions known to the school they intend to transfer to by March 30, 2007. After the end of March students transferring without a change of residence will not be eligible for varsity play for 1 calendar year.
