Area departments respond to car crashes
Area law enforcement and emergency responders were called to a few car crashes in the last week.
On Nov. 25, the Todd County Sheriff's Office responded around 7:54 a.m. to an accident on Todd County Road 23 involving a rural Menahga woman. Mary Merchant lost control of her Chevy Cavalier on the snow and went into the ditch and rolled. Her injuries were minor, a news release said.
On Saturday, Nov. 28, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office received a report of a two- vehicle accident on Minnesota Avenue (Minnesota Highway 227) in the city of Sebeka.
A deputy from the Wadena County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and learned that one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol. The drivers involved in the accident were Scott Mann, 43, of Sebeka, who was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis, and Eric McCray, age 26, of Menahga, who was driving a Ford Taurus. McCray was arrested at the scene and charged with fourth-degree DWI. No injuries were reported. The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol.
On Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Todd County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Todd County Roads 11 and 84. Tanner Line, 17, of Browerville, was eastbound on CR 84 when he collided with a vehicle driven by Jamie Davis of Long Prairie. Both were taken by Browerville Ambulance to the Long Prairie Hospital. The vehiles were a total loss.
