Anderson named to All-MIAC team
Former Bertha-Hewitt standout Blaine Anderson was one of 14 St. John's football players chosen for the 2009 All-MIAC squad.
Anderson was a senior guard for the Johnnies who started every games along with Jeff Gilbertson (Winona Cotter), Tim Juba (Cottage Grove) and Drew Percival (Wayzata). Anderson was a first-team selection along with junior quarterback Joe Boyle (Holy Angels), kicker Russ Gliadon (Fridley), defensive back Bobby Klint (Totino Grace), Kyle Schroeder (Rocori) and Ryan Wimmer (St. Cloud Cathedral).
The Johnnies posted an 8-0 record in the MIAC for their 31st conference championship and went 10-1 overall.
