Advanced beekeeping course to be held June 2

Hubbard County University of Minnesota Extension will offer an "Advanced Beekeeping" course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 2 at Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids, a press release sent to the Pioneer Journal said.

The course will be taught by JoAnne Sabin, a well-known educator on honeybees, and a Dakota County UMN Master Gardener. The course is designed to encourage, assist and educate others in the experience of keeping honeybees.

The course, which is free, will cover current events, pesticides, detailed bee biology, experience with various bee races, equipment, and other topics.
