The Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline Boehne, a former Wadena resident, was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Bluffton, with Father Timothy Wenzel as celebrant. Adeline, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.
Adeline Amelia Boehne was born on April 3, 1922, in Cold Spring, Minn., to William and Elizabeth (Knaus) Bernard. She married Maurice Boehne on Oct. 20, 1951, in Cold Spring, and they lived and farmed together in the Wadena area. She moved to Bemidji in October 2010 to be closer to family.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening and taking care of her family. Adeline also took great pride in her grandchildren, and especially enjoyed time spent playing with them. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Bluffton, followed by membership at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Wadena, and was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maurice; brothers, Leander, Roy and Buddy; and sisters, Jenny, Marion, Lucille and Annabel. She is survived by son, Michael (Karen) of Golden Valley; daughter, Maureen (Justin) Stay of Bemidji; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger Bernard of Cold Spring and Ben (Jean) Bernard of Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.
We will miss her beautiful smile.
Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren, Javaun, Sophia, Landon and Weston. Serving as pallbearers were her grandchildren, Alicia Phillips, Ryan Boehne, Jennie Boehne, Nole Stay and Rozann Anderson.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Wadena.
Arrangements were with the Schuller Family Funeral Home in Wadena.
