To address violence, you need a 'heart change'
Here we go again; another shooting with several dead. Could more gun control really have stopped this? I don't think so.
If a person really wants to kill someone, they will find a way to do so. The first murder in the Bible, Cain killed his brother, Abel, and had no gun.
In Jeremiah 17:19, it states "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?"
This is the heart of the issue with the killers. Their hearts are full of anger and sin. The only way to stop this killing is not more gun control, but a heart change.
Only through Jesus, who forgives sin and put His spirit and nature in us, can we have a change of heart.
Control comes after the heart changes. We need not take out our anger on others. We will leave revenge to God.
Romans 12:19 states," Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but give place to wrath (God's), for His written vengeance is mine. I will repay."
We do need to lock up guns to keep them away from children. We need to keep violent videogames/movies away from children with formable minds.
We all need to seek God for a heart change.
