A driver was backing her vehicle out of a parking spot when she struck a vehicle parked behind her. No one was injured in the accident.
Two people were hurt in an accident around 11:30 a.m. on Emerson Avenue South, after one vehicle pulled out of a parking spot and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. One driver received a laceration to her head and went to the hospital. The other driver's eye was injured by the airbag deployment but refused medical treatment.
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Franklin Avenue around noon. One vehicle was stopped in traffic, waiting to make a left turn, when the second vehicle, approaching from the rear, did not stop in time and hit the lead vehicle. Both occupants of the lead vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses also said the trailing vehicle was likely exceeding the speed limit.
