United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena counties announces funded partner programs
"To improve lives by uniting the caring powers in our community" is the mission statement of United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena counties and during the early months of 2018, the caring powers of these communities have been working hard on funding partner programs. United Way received many applications for funding from 501(C)(3) nonprofits whose priority areas focus on health, education and financial stability. Community Investment panels, made up of local volunteers, met in several locations during the first few weeks in March. After reviewing applications, financial reports and watching partner presentations, the Community Investment panel made their recommendation for funding. The United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties' Board of Directors made the final decision during their April Board meeting. Their decision was to approve two years' worth of funding totaling $146,350 for Otter Tail County partners and $16,050 for Wadena County partners.
