Do you dare enter ‘The Asylum?’

Diane Vry is one of the local volunteers who invites those who dare to enter “The Asylum” Haunted House open Friday and Saturday nights through Nov. 2.

Joe Randall and a host of volunteers and actors are daring you to enter “The Asylum” Haunted House at the Wadena County Fairgrounds.

The annual fundraising event for the Wadena County Fair includes black hallways, mazes, rooms with frightening apparitions and many surprises. There are also a few creepy sound effects to deal with along the route.

Two livestock barns on the fairgrounds that house the haunted adventure have been joined together this year so that once you enter, you do not come back out, at least until you have seen it all.

Work on the project began in August.

“It’s a lot of work but it’s all worth it when it’s done,” Randall said.

“The Asylum” opened Oct. 4. It will be open every Friday and Saturday through Nov. 2. The hours are 7:30-11:30 p.m. with the exception of Halloween Night when the hours are 8:30-11:30 p.m. The admission fee is $10 per person.
