United Way announces new board leadership

United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties welcomed four board members to the organization.

Jason Hastings is a resident of Fergus Falls and self-employed as an Attorney at Hastings Law, L.L.C. Hastings was born in Carrington, N.D. and raised in Wishek, N.D. He and his wife Kristi have two children, Ava and Dane. Hastings is also involved with Fergus Falls Habitat for Humanity, Federated Church, Fergus Falls Youth Football, Fergus Falls Youth Hockey, F.F.H.R.A, the Fergus Falls Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee and the Fergus Falls ISD 544 — Adopt a Class program.

Jose Alba resides in Wadena with his wife Katie and their one-year-old, Mia. Alba was born in Huntington Park, Calif. and raised in Staples. He works at Tri-County Health Care and serves as the Director of Ambulatory Services. Alba's hobbies include traveling and spending time with family and friends. He also serves the Wadena community as a member of the Wadena Lions.

Sara Hanson lives in the Perham community and employed by Shearer's as a Human Resources Assistant. Hanson is a lifetime resident of Perham and enjoys watching sports and spending time with family and friends in her spare time. She serves the Perham community with her involvement in her church and the Perham Alumni events.

Diane Hanson is a lifetime resident of the Pelican Rapids community and is employed as the VP/Branch Manager of the Bell Bank in Pelican Rapids. Diane Hanson and her husband, John have two children, Coulter and Chloe. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, gardening, paddle boarding and spending time at one of our beautiful area lakes. She also serves the Pelican Rapids community by volunteering for Pelican 4-H, the Chamber of Commerce, church council and religious education, Welcome Place, the Economic Development Commission and Rotary.

The members of the board are responsible for setting and establishing policies, procedures and goals for the operation and management of United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties. United Way board members serve a three-year term with an option to serve another term. Members also oversee the distribution of all funds and set the annual campaign goal.
