Rose City BBQ, Porkfection win Pig and Wing

The third annual Pig and Wing competition drew a field of 32 professional and amateur entries Aug. 4 at the Wadena Elks Lodge.

Rose City BBQ was the winning team in the pork ribs contest, while the McGrane Pit Crew of Wadena took second. Burt Lorentz of Eagle Bend finished third and TC Backyard BBQ of Wadena was the "People's Choice" winner.

Erik Osberg's Porkfection team of Wadena won the wings competition, with Tim Christianson's Flying Chicken of Toad Lake taking second, Rose City BBQ placing third and Dave Kleinke of Wadena earning another "People's Choice" award.

Don Scheller and Tyler Ehrmantraut organized the fundraising event, which benefitted the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

"This was our biggest event by far," Ehrmantraut said.
