Tri-County Hospital recognized for birth registration
On April 30, Tri-County Hospital was presented with the Excellence in Birth Registration Award from the Minnesota Department of Health while attending the third annual training conference in St. Paul.
The award recognizes hospitals for accurate and timely birth registration while meeting or exceeding important criteria, including completion of at least 94 percent of all birth registrations within five days. Registration data is used in many ways. It can influence planning for maternal and child health and assist in pinpointing geographical areas that may benefit from additional public health measures.
Minnesota State Registrar Steve Elkins commented that "we applaud all of the hospitals that received this award; they demonstrate a strong commitment to providing timely legal registration and valuable information for protecting and improving public health."
TCH was one of 36 Minnesota hospitals to receive this award.
