United Way of Todd and Wadena Counties welcomes new board members
United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties is pleased to welcome five board members to the organization.
Marilyn Twete is a resident of Wadena. She is a retired private music teacher. Twete was born and raised in Wishek, N.D. Her family includes her husband Dick, two children and three grandchildren. Twete's hobbies include music, reading and watching sports. Her community involvement includes volunteering for the hospital and food shelf, being active in church activities and the Dementia Friendly Wadena task force. Twete "Lives United" by all of the above activities plus contributing to many charitable organizations.
Brent Frazier is native of Pelican Rapids and is also serving as the mayor of his hometown. His family includes wife, JoAnn and his two grown children, Tonya and Tony. His hobbies include yard work, bible study, listening to music and watching NFL football. Frazier is involved as a member of the Pelican Rapids Lions Club, Otter Tail County Planning Commission, Pelican Rapids EDA and he enjoys volunteering at the community food shelf. He "Lives United" by respecting others who may have different opinions and viewpoints. He treats others as he would like them to treat him and he lends a helping hand to others.
Gary Sellman is a resident of Ottertail and employed as the President at Mid-Central Federal Savings Bank. Sellman was born and raised in Almelund. His family includes wife, Gabriele and four sons. His hobbies include fishing, kayaking and reading. Sellman was involved with the former Wadena County United Way for over 12 years. Additional organizations he is involved with are Wadena Lions Club and the Wadena Housing and Redevelopment Authority. He "Lives United" by volunteering his time to local organizations and events.
Heidi Konynenbelt is a resident of Fergus Falls and is the Manager of Computer Systems at Otter Tail Power Company. She was born in Williston, N.D. and raised in Bainville, Mont. Konynenbelt is married to her husband James and has four children. She enjoys camping, playing piano, traveling, reading movies and cooking. Her community involvement includes teaching Sunday School, Hillcrest soccer and basketball booster, choir accompanist, Dollars for Scholars Board Member and volunteering. Konynenbelt "Lives United" by supporting United Way and striving to live with integrity and compassion in her daily life.
Jackie Hendrickson is a resident of Fergus Falls and employed at StoneL as the Controller. She was born in Central North Dakota and raised in Harvey, N.D. She is married to her husband Lanny and has four children. Hendrickson is involved in Kiwanis, Elks and she is a Wall Lake Association Board Member. Hendrickson "Lives United" by having a passion for helping to improve lives within our community especially for children.
The board of directors for United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties are responsible for setting and establishing policies, procedures and goals for the operation and management of United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties. United Way board members serve a three-year term with an option to serve another term. Members also oversee the distribution of all funds and set the annual campaign goal.
